The GMT-Master was originally designed to help professional pilots navigate long-haul flights. It has since become a favourite with travellers. The watch is easily recognisable with its bidirectional rotatable bezel and 24-hour graduated bezel, available in two different colours, with the lower half representing daytime and the upper half representing nighttime. The watch is also available with a single-colour bezel.

The GMT-Master II can display the time in two time zones simultaneously: the local time and the departure time can be read at the same time, or the local time and the time in a third time zone can be read at the same time. The calendar display is synchronized with the local time.

High-tech ceramics

Rolex has repeatedly pioneered the development of ceramic technology. With its advanced technology, it has developed a one-piece ceramic outer bezel and ceramic bezel. These materials are not only scratch-resistant, but also unaffected by the environment.

The new GMT-Master II features a bidirectional rotating bezel and a Cerachrom grey and black ceramic 24-hour scale bezel. The molded scales and numbers are plated with platinum using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) coating technology.

Oyster case, symbol of water resistance

The GMT-Master II is equipped with a 40mm Oyster case, guaranteed to be water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). The three-buckle winding crown has a triple waterproof system and is firmly screwed to the case. The crown guard is integrated into the middle case to protect the winding crown. The mirror surface is made of anti-reflective blue crystal and is not easily scratched. There is a small window convex lens at 3 o'clock for easy reading of the calendar. The watch's waterproof Oyster case provides the best protection for the movement.

Type 3285 Perpetual Movement

GMT-Master II is equipped with caliber 3285, which was launched in 2018. It was developed and manufactured by Rolex and was installed in this series of watches in the same year. This self-winding mechanical movement embodies Rolex's exquisite technology and has outstanding performance in terms of accuracy, reliability, power reserve and ease of use.

Oyster strap and Jubilee strap

The GMT-Master II Oystersteel model is equipped with a gray and black two-color Cerachrom ceramic bezel, and is equipped with an Oyster strap or a Jubilee strap. Both straps are equipped with a folding Oyster safety buckle to prevent the buckle from opening accidentally. The buckle is also equipped with the easy-adjustable link extension system developed by Rolex, which allows the wearer to easily extend the strap by about 5 mm.

Superlative Chronometer Certification

Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II carries the Superlative Chronometer certification established by Rolex in 2015. This unique designation proves that each watch has successfully passed a series of tests conducted by Rolex laboratories.
